Xenson's "Futuristic Past Fashion Show".

Allow me to introduce you to Xenson, a talented multi-media artist from my very own country.
Last week he had a fashion show deemed "the Futuristic Past".
Xenson "Took us on a journey" as he put it.
Below are pictures from the Futuristic past, extrodinary pieces, made from bark cloth, sisal, calabashes, bamboo, dried banana leaves, you name it...all designs were very dramtic and every piece was a statement piece.
One lady commented that Xenson must hate women so bad if he could dress them up that way.
I on the other hand, think that he is an amazing designer who isnt afraid to strech his imagination, using materials from mother nature...i am thinking Brilliant...am thinking African Couture! correct me if am wrong.

Room 23 - Party Rock!

                           Hello party people,

Yesterday we partied HARD in Room 23. My mood was high, make up done, hair did, play list was off the hook.,coke with ice and lemon was flowing.. . See having coke with ice and lemon gives me the illusion that there is Vodka in my glass (damn this camp!)
Well despite the fact that i would love to dance away under the influence, circumstances dictate otherwise :((  YET i  still  played my favourite party music and brought Room 23 DOWN!!
Ooh yes,and i partied away alone...wicked right? i know! don't judge me,girls just wanna have fun.

Iryn's Birthday Dinner.

Hola everybody,
This is what i wore to my friends surprise birthday dinner .
I love surprises, mainly because i like to see the overwhelming expressions on ones face...priceless! She was surprised and very happy which was satisfying to all of us for contributed towards making her day special.
It was a working day, so we just went to Fung Fung Chinese restaurant and gained more weight with lots of food and cake....ding ding extra 10kgs :(
We talked and laughed so hard,we were the last to leave, great times with great friends.

Fashionista's Night Out.

Hey there divas,

I really enjoyed my time off, i was able to attend a fashionista's night out which was held at the Golf Course Hotel pool side. Not quite as interesting as the last one but luckily the music was great and i was with friends so that calls for a good time right? Well we later joined the boys at a bar and partied away...with me drowning in alcohol like a kid in the chocolate factory...hihihihi :))

Adios...

Hello beautiful people,
So today am super excited... i am heading home  to the city, after a long week of work and online exams ( explaining why Ive been MAI ..)
Am off for a week's break and honestly all i can think about is getting wasted,i will definitely be drowning myself in everything TOXIC! ...looking forward to some shopping, sleeping in late, snuggling up in bed all day and watching movies while all of you will be working...:) and yes and blogging so stay hooked.
I guess its time to pay back for my lonely, alcohol free nights in my 4 walled Room 23 (which i honestly will miss)

Just a sneak peck of what the camp looks like, hopefully will post pictures of Room 23  when i get back.
Adios.
XOXO

Room 23

Hello beautiful people, As some of you may know by now, i work in a remote site in the western side of Uganda, very beautiful place i must say.Click here to see a previous post i did on it.
I live in a camp and its sometimes the most tiring and excrushiating job ever. I work from Monday to Sunday...(no kidding) for four weeks and go back home to the city (Kampala) for 1-2 weeks. This may seem like an amazing rotation as i get to do just me for 1-2 weeks after every 4 weeks...BUT there are some restrictions during my time in camp :((
1)There is a no alcohol policy. 2)You work and live in the same area . 3) When its gets to a Friday, am never really excited, work is pretty much the same throughout the weekend...4) My weekends are the hardest as i envision my friends parting the night away and lounging through the weekend...i think that would have been a little bit bearable if only i had alcohol to see me through...*wipes tear*

Everyday i look forward to the time i will head back to Room 23, my 10-10square meter room. My little niche were i withdraw away from everyone and try to be me.
See the camp is full of about 150-200 men from all over the world, and 4-10 women, depending on the work at the time.
In this "man's" world, Room 23 is where i get to be me...a woman! This is where i do all things beautiful.... making up...playing dress up..acting up..taking pictures...dancing alone with my "party rock" music blazing in my ears... (yeah, yeah, yeah....don't judge me!)

AFRICA FASHION WEEK-Day 2/2

A continuation of Day 2 of AFW. Bellow is a showcase of  Spring/Summer collections from Jacob Kimmie, Madam Wokie,Adam Paris,Eki Orleans and Dax Martin.
                                                                                Jacob Kimmie

                                                                                   Madam Wokie

                                                                                                                  Adam Paris

                                                                                                                Eki Orleans

                                                                                                                   Dax Martin

Jacob Jimmie, showcased an elegant and classic collection, sheer raffled blouses that you couldn't help but fall in love with! Am getting obsessed with sheer every passing day.
I loved the fact that Adam Paris of all made use of African fabric, known to us as the "kitenge". His two and single piece swim suits where soo beautiful...or was i biased because its fabric easily accesible to me and he actually used the kitenge in all his pieces showcased with a touch of leather. Until him,no one fully utilized African fabric, despite the fact that i expected it to be predominant.
When i saw Eki Orlean's collection, all i could think of was "peacock, peacock" and who doesn't love that very proud elegant bird!
