Its been a while, was on a much needed short holiday. Hope Ur all doing well.

Some of you must have probably read me a while a go complain about my hair being brittle,soft,sparsely populated and doesn't really grow, well this is how i look like after Bantu knot outs, not so adorable i know, but i got to love it regardless.

Hello Ladies,

Just me talking pics of my,trying to be fierce and all...acting up in front of the camera...Well you know what happens when a girl is bored. Wearing a turban and my favourite African earrings at the moment.

First 2 pics are without makeup, and the rest have make up and blush.

P.S, My first time wearing blush,something i bunished for women of colour, but hey,i actually like it!

Freaky Friday...

Back to work and back to my little niche,Room 23.

Last Friday night i played around with my face, i turned on my Friday night play list and got face painting...

I am quite shy when it comes to colour so i usually keep my make up simple. I love black eyeshadow and i usually, most of the time will only wear a smokey eye. But last night i ventured out of my comfort zone and tried grey.

I also usually wear only red lipstick or just plain lip gloss.

Items i used.

Seeing as my eye makeup was bold enough, i kept the colour on my lips very minimal and barely  noticeable.

P.S I have never tried this look as i find it very bold,and very "hey check me out" souda kinda look.

So what do you think, would i turn heads??

Hello beautiful people,

A short post,see as i just wanted to flaunt to the world my hair growth so far...yes it takes me years to get to that stage,so don't rain on my parade!lol,  and even though i may not have hair like Julia Sar-Jamois ,i am surely getting there,growing those tresses inch by inch...yes i CAN!

Currently going through a 3 day detox,will post about it soon.

Skin Care 101

Hello Ladies,

The scorching sun in Africa and in Uganda to be exact compelled me to write this post.

Lately temperatures have been 30 degrees and above and My skin is screaming "what are you doing to me". so i thought why not write about how to keep your skin fresh and smooth and beat this sun at its game.

 

Therefore apart from the everyday advise, like wear sunscreen, wear a hat, or some that are either unavoidable like, keep away from the sun, below is my Skin care 101,to keep your skin hydrated and happy.

                    

1. Water

Every body by now knows that water is your number 1 friend when it comes to skin care regardless of the weather. Water keeps Ur skin hydrated. Adequate intake of water is said to enhance health, increase energy levels, bright,clear eyes and a radiant glowing complexion. I know its not the tastiest of drinks and we would rather take sodas and juice but what the hell...think "amazing skin" and just drink up ladies!

2. Exfoliating.

Exfoliating removes dead cells from the uppermost layer of skin to reveal the fresher, younger skin underneath.

Since my skin is sensitive,i usually prefer natural home made products whenever i can, my mum introduced me to "olive oil honey sugar scrub" an i have never looked back. Using this scrub is good for sensitive/ dry skin. While sugar exfoliates,olive oil is moisturising,and honey helps locks in moisture, making your skin glow, younger and healthier.

Be sure however to blend the sugar before mixing the 3 items together and also use unrefrigerated honey as refrigerated honey is hard and wont mix easily. And the gem is it works for both the face and body.

3. Moisturising.

With this scorching sun,we loose alot of moisture and need to moisturise even more than ever.

Shea butter is my miracle moisturiser, it has Vitamins A and E. Vitamin A  has soothing and hydrating properties, while Vitamin E balances and normalises the skin. It helps keep skin clear and healthy and is particularly beneficial for sun-exposed skin.

My Mama provides me with locally made crude unperformed Shea butter which is better,but boy ooh boy doesn't it make Ur boyfriend cringe his face when he kisses a freshly moisturised face! BUT worry less because if it wasn't smooth and clear he wouldn't be kissing it anyway...so i just spread that Shea butter baibe like my life depended on IT! 

You can however add scented oils like vanilla and lavender but i prefer not to as the smell clears off after 5 minutes anyway.

I also like to use baby oil all over my body after a bath when Ur not dry as it locks in moisture. Be sure to add you favourite body lotion or cream after as it alone may not work effectively in this heat.

Every body however has what works miracles for them,and what may work for me, my not work for you,and vise verse. So if you have something good,stick to it, otherwise it doesn't hurt to try till you find what works for you.

A skin care regime is essential for every lady, so adopt one,and get out there and enjoy the sun ladies.

Its Frobruary, this is Ur month! YES its also the month of love i know that! So fall in love with Ur natural tresses and rock them this month.

P.s, 1 thing i wasn't ever blessed with is thick hair, my hair is very soft, very curly, never really grows and is literally sparsely populated . You know that, mega thick, bootylicious,voluptuous,supper big, Afro belle, Ludacris kinda Afro? yeah,I'l never have that!! I seriously need me some serious hair regime and prayers. Any advice??

 Its been a while, been away on holiday,getting drunk,fat, and doing charity staff with friends that am so excited to share the experience with everyone.

Xenson's "Futuristic Past Fashion Show".

Allow me to introduce you to Xenson, a talented multi-media artist from my very own country.

Last week he had a fashion show deemed "the Futuristic Past".

Xenson "Took us on a journey" as he put it.

Below are pictures from the Futuristic past, extrodinary pieces,made from bark cloth,sisal,calabashes,bamboo,dried banana leaves,you name it...all designs were very dramtic and every piece was a statement piece.

One lady commented that Xenson must hate women so bad if he could dress them up that way. 

I on the other hand,think that he is an amazing designer who isnt afraid to strech his imagination,using materials from mother nature...i am thinking Brilliant...am thinking African Couture! correct me if am wrong.

I work in  very remote area in western Uganda, luckily i remembered to carry my camera this time round and here are some pictures of a trip to visit one of our camps across the lake,Lake Albert to be exact.

Amazing moments and breath taking scenery i had to share...my country is very beautiful no doubt about that.

African Inspired Fashion

My face lights up every time i see African inspired designs on the catwalk..a little voice in me is scream "yeeey go Africa go!"  

African inspired fashion is the new rave in the fashion industry. This trend infiltrated the mainstream in 2010 and has received a significant presence in the runway at fashion shows all over the world. . While Western and other non-African Fashion designers have incorporated African elements in their designs, this trend is identified by the use of African print fabrics,

There are lots of great African designers all over the world and it breaks my heart to know that people are not madly in love with them. I love it because African fabric and designs are very versatile.

We however would rather splash and go all out in label stores than support our very own local designers.

However i must admit our local designers are expensive and not accessible to the ordinary man,forcing us at the end of the day to go to Mr.Price,and purchase a dress that costs less, or even better, go downtown to Owino and drown ourselves in millions of designs and options.

So i suggest they meet us half way...the fabric is bought and made in Africa anyway,so we deserve the right to be treated fairly...*hides* don't want designers killing me., then you can always ridiculously increase the price for Export.
